I work with scanR, a service that turns your camera phone into a portable copier, scanner and fax machine. The company announced it is releasing a new application that will let you use your camera in your BlackBerry Curve or Pearl to capture and share notes from a whiteboard with your team.

The public site will go live today, Friday March 28th. We hope that you might have a chance to give this service a try.

Instead of feverishly scrawling down notes during the meeting, maybe missing some of what is being said or needing to spend extra time after the meeting to copy the notes, simply use scanR to capture the notes written on the whiteboard. The new BlackBerry scanR app also lets you easily share the notes with colleagues/friends.

Great post on electronic paper keypads and Sipix. Anyone interested in this technology may want to also look at Aveso’s Primero product — targeted primarily at a different application (smart cards and one time passwords) but what makes it interesting is that it enables card-makers to embed flexible display modules onto cards using existing hot laminate equipment.

Who knows - cell phone + credit card convergence?
