Blyk, the ad-based mobile network, is reported to launch today in the UK. Consumers will be offered free mobile calls in return for listening to ads.
MySpace has today launched an ad supported mobile portal. The ad supported model provides an alternative to the subscription based services with carriers such as Helio and ATT.
Sprint has launched a CDMA Femto Cell, made by Samsung, and sold as Airave. The Femto Cell service allows CDMA phones to connect to a broadband connection and thus fill in those indoors areas with poor reception.
Mobile user generated content and sharing startup Peermeta has raised US$6m.
Multiperson text messaging has reportedly arrived first in the carrier world with Virgin Mobile USA using technology from 3Jam.
