Some key announcements from the week past:

Online video site Revision3 has raised US$8 million. Revision3 produces video shows for Internet viewing or download. There are 10 channels with revenue generated from host announced advertising.

Last week I mentioned that PermissionTV raised money for its platform to power corporate Internet video content. This week another company, Feedroom, has raised money to continue growth of its corporate video platform. Companies such as Wall-Mart use the platform to power their website video content.

CallWave has launched its voicemail to SMS service, joining companies such as Jott, Spinvox and SimulScribe. CallWave has other complimentary web based products such as an answering machine and a fax service.

AmberWatchMobile has released an application (BREW based) that provides location tracking. Functionality includes providing alerts if a phone (i.e. person) is not in an expected location at an expected time (i.e. school).

Yahoo has updated its mobile product suite. The products which include email, search and mapping functions have been in beta since January, and compete directly with Google’s offerings. In the same week Microsoft also announced improvements to its mobile email, search and mapping offerings.

Internet TV company Veoh has announced the launch of a downloadable viewing application. The application provides video search functionality much like Joost, and marks a significant direction towards allowing viewing of content from sites other than their own. The application also includes recording capability.

VoIP company BOK has launched a mobile product that does not involve downloading software. The service operates a bit like JahJah in that you tell BOK who you want to call (via SMS) and the BOK rings both parties before connecting them. The service provides cheap to free rates.

I used SMS services with callwave, and I’m completely dissapointed, they cancle and suspend your account without notification, and when you complain there’s no body to talk to or complain who can understand you.

The disconnection and suspension of my account was excused to be a new policy of international users without notification to the user, or warning, and when I asked them why didn’t you tell me so I can backup my data they said sorry we missed that! what a crab service!

more importantly they delete all of your records and deny to hand it back to you (as history of transactions).

very disappointed and would warn everyone who’s trying to use them. :(
